Martin “Youth” Glover is an influential producer, composer, and bass innovator whose career spans more than three decades of genre-defining work. He first emerged through the uncompromising post-punk outfit Killing Joke before going on to co-create The Orb, a project central to the rise of ambient house and dub-informed electronic music. Across the years, his studio work has continuously blurred the lines between experimental sound and global pop culture.
Beyond his own projects, Youth has reimagined tracks for major artists including U2, Siouxsie & The Banshees, De La Soul, and A Guy Called Gerald, bringing his signature depth and atmosphere to each remix. He has also collaborated extensively with Paul McCartney, contributing to work connected to the legendary Beatle’s expansive catalogue.
Next Friday February 27th at from 11am till 1pm AMP Studios in Westlands, Nairobi, Youth will join poet, writer, DJ, and activist Bizi Bingi for an intimate live podcast session, and conversation. Together they will revisit key moments from his journey, play selections from his vast body of work, and reflect on creativity, culture, collaboration, and the enduring power of bass. The session will be filmed by the Amp Studio team in Studio A.
