A UK Legend Joins Kilele: Youth
A UK Legend Joins Kilele: Youth

We are delighted to welcome Martin ‘Youth’ Glover to Kilele, an artist, producer, and cultural force whose influence stretches across some of the most important movements in modern music.

With a career spanning more than 30 years, Youth occupies a rare position at the intersection of global superstardom and underground experimentation. As a producer, he has worked with some of the biggest names in music history, including Paul McCartney and Pink Floyd, while simultaneously helping to shape some of the most forward-thinking and unconventional sounds to emerge from club culture and alternative music scenes.

Youth first rose to prominence as a founding member of Killing Joke, whose aggressive, uncompromising sound left a lasting imprint on post-punk, industrial, and metal music. He later became a central figure in electronic music through The Orb, pioneering immersive approaches to ambient, dub, and acid house that continue to influence electronic producers today. His ability to move fluidly between experimental and mainstream worlds also saw him collaborate with artists such as Crowded House and The Verve, including his acclaimed work on Urban Hymns, which earned him a BRIT Award for Best Producer.

At Kilele, Youth will bring this depth of experience to a Producers Masterclass hosted in partnership with AMP Studios Nairobi, offering participants a rare insight into his creative process, production philosophy, and career longevity. He will also contribute to conference sessions, sharing hard-earned knowledge on navigating the music industry, sustaining artistic curiosity, and building bridges between scenes, genres, and generations. Rounding out his presence at the summit, Youth will deliver a DJ set, offering a sonic journey shaped by decades of boundary-pushing music-making.

His participation at Kilele represents a unique opportunity to engage with an artist who has consistently challenged convention while leaving an indelible mark on both popular and underground music cultures worldwide.
