Party Anthropology: A Study on Communal Frequencies and Artistic Expression

This presentation will function as the final stop in a study that mphilo & Gek0 have been on for the last 11 months. Observing, noting and building upon the relationship that exists between us as artists, friends and community members. The duo have always been fascinated by observing the synchronicities and parallels that exist around them. This workshop/presentation is a culmination of their artistic study on harnessing shared communal frequencies to create healing art. They observed, noted and compiled data on how internal, and instinctual frequencies can be harnessed and shared between individuals, vocalists and producers. They want to explore how sound can be made, captured and manipulated both digitally and analogously to create art, both sonic and visual that exists as a tangible expression of felt ideas.

The presentation presents observations through sound experiments, a mini doc about what role music and the club scene play in creating and maintaining community. An interactive session and joint community sound release exercise, where the duo will guide the audience through their experiments and create new music together. This workshop invites participation in co-creation, encouraging musical expression and reflection on how relationships and energies can shape our work and our world.
