Basthma is an award winning DJ; he was recognized as Best Experimental DJ in East Africa - Sondeka EA ALT Awards 2021 . He has played in numerous festivals and events around Nairobi and the world at large, noteably: Tusker Oktoberfest ,Beneath The Baobabs Festival , Sondeka festival Sankara Hotel, Blankets and Wine festival, Nairobi RnB Festival, Muze Club, The Alchemist, Africa Nouveau Festival, FDV Neuchatele Switzerland and 6°South in Zanzibar. He has held down a residency at the Moov Cafe, Nairobi for over a year under the name Funky Friday with Basthma and Friends. The residency boasts an attendance of 100 - 150 people at its peak. He is also the founder of the Low End Theory event; now held monthly at the Mist, which is just under 6 months old but attracted an attendance of almost 100 people.
Alongside him is Lilywhite, a rapper, songwriter, music producer, and rapidly emerging DJ who channels over seven years of industry experience into dynamic, unforgettable sets. Drawing from a diverse foundation in hip-hop, rap, afropop, and electronic music, she crafts immersive experiences shaped by her close ties to a vibrant community of DJs and producers, keeping her at the forefront of an ever-evolving scene.
Selina Onyando, also known as onyandos or selo, a Nairobi-based DJ and visual artist whose work is rooted in a deep passion for African music and its global influence. A graduate of the Santuri Electronic Music Academy, selo approaches DJing as an act of thoughtful curation, introducing audiences to new and emerging sounds from across the continent, while her visual practice—focused on capturing everyday moments and overlooked perspectives—mirrors her sensitive, exploratory approach to music.
