In a parallel deep-dive session, producer and sonic architect Kimina leads an advanced masterclass centered on instrument design and synthesis within Ableton Live.
Guided by the provocative question “Can anything become an instrument?” This session pushes participants to move beyond presets and into deliberate sound construction.
The workshop will explore:
- Turning field recordings into playable digital instruments
- Building a focused, single-purpose sonic tool (“one-track pony”)
- Advanced synthesis and intentional sound shaping
- Workflow ergonomics and sonic identity development
Participants will construct instruments from raw material, examining how sound design choices inform artistic voice. This is a space for experienced producers ready to interrogate their creative assumptions and build from first principles.
