Nabalayo

I am Nabalayo, a Kenyan producer, performer, singer-songwriter, music educator and culture worker. I am a folk music alchemist powered by ancestral magic, a music degree and a passion for cultural appreciation.

I pioneered a music genre called Changanya in 2018 as a tribute to the Kenyan people. With it I mix yesterday's memories together with today's dreams to create tomorrow's magic.

So far I have released four albums and participated in cross-disciplinary projects to expand the universe within my creative mind.

Currently I am working on an album inspired by some of my favourite animals and insects and some physics fever dreams.
