Her work primarily focuses on music and art journalism, exploring the evolving creative landscapes of the African continent, with a particular interest in East Africa’s artistic movements. mphilo is deeply passionate about storytelling in all its forms and always endeavor to remain curious of the intersections of sound, visual art, and community.

mphilo is a singer, songwriter, and music producer, blending traditional African influences and sounds with contemporary rhythms. Additionally she works as a creative director and community organizer, for the art collective #supportdahomies. The collective curates innovative spaces for artists to come together to collaborate, learn, and share in joint struggles and wins.
