Kenyan DJ, architect and sustainable design advocate Jesse Mwenda is a multidisciplinary creative whose work sits at the intersection of music, community and social impact. The architect with an MA in Sustainable Design from the University of Brighton, Jesse brings a systems-thinking approach to both the built environment and nightlife culture. In 2022, he founded Studio Can-V, a platform dedicated to amplifying emerging musical talent and strengthening DJ-led communities. A self-taught DJ since the age of 14, Jesse has performed in cities including Nairobi, London, Istanbul and Barcelona, and across various venues in the UK. He actively collaborates with grassroots collectives such as Dreamnights, Soirée Entertainment, and In the Nick of Time, championing the role of creative communities in reshaping nightlife. In 2023, his community-focused vision gained global recognition when Studio Can-V won a €50,000 grant from Jägermeister’s Save the Night Fund, selected from hundreds of submissions worldwide.
