Christos Michalakos

Christos Michalakos is a composer and performer whose practice centres on an electronically augmented drum-kit. His custom hybrid instrument extends the acoustic drum-kit through sensors and bespoke software, enabling dynamic interaction between physical gesture, sound, and real-time systems.

His work explores live electronics, embodied performance, and collaborative practice, drawing on experimental music and game engines to create expressive, responsive performance environments. He is based at Abertay University in Dundee, where he is a Reader in Interactive Audio.
