Basthma

Basthma is an award winning DJ; he was recognized as Best Experimental DJ in East Africa - Sondeka EA ALT awards 2021 . He has played in numerous festivals and events around Nairobi and the world at large, noteably: Tusker Oktoberfest ,Beneath The Baobabs Festival , Sondeka festival Sankara Hotel, Blankets and Wine festival, Nairobi RnB Festival, Muze Club, The Alchemist, Africa Nouveau Festival, FDV Neuchatele Switzerland and 6°South in Zanzibar. He has held down a residency at the Moov Cafe, Nairobi for over a year under the name Funky Friday with Basthma and Friends. The residency boasts an attendance of 100 - 150 people at its peak. He is also the founder of the Low End Theory event; now held monthly at the Mist, which is just under 6 months old but attracted an attendance of almost 100 people.
